The crank pulley/dampner is the most popular pulley to cause a belt to prematurely wear. Its obviousl when you look from the side of the vehicle at the alignment of the belt. The crank pulley is 3 pieces that jive together. Out piece has the grooves in it. then there is a thin layer of rubber that separates the in hub that bolt to the crank shaft. All three pieces should be flush.when looking straight down.

Somewhere you have a pulley that’s not aligned properly. When you put the belt on look closely and see where the belt starts to sit out of alignment just a little and you will be able to track down which pulley needs to be realigned.

The most popular pulley out of algin that shreads a belt on a jeep is the Alternator, especialy if it is a rebuilt from outside source other than the dealer. Some of the pulleys are shimed
    Good Luck
