My dad just bought me a restored 1957 Jeep Willys, and I’m just trying to get the average mileage of these babies. It’s a 4 cylinder, and only goes 45 mph. so someone, help!

Off-roading in the Canadian Wilderness driving through bush in 4LO and drove my Jeep YJ into an unseen creek! Snapped my winch line, trying to get out! Don’t have lockers – yet! Left it over night, until help arrived. Video was taken with a cold engine on the Jeep since it was left over night (you see a bit of smoke out of the exhaust). A clicking/crunching noise in the differential got worst during this video. It was a bad ring gear and pinion gear, that have now been replaced (The pinion gear was all chewed up and the ring gear was missing 3 consecutive teeth).

This is my 1978 jeep CJ-7 idling in my driveway. Its a slightly built up 258 inline six cylinder and I have an electric exhaust cut out that is open. I show you how that works towards the end of the vid, its a fun little gadget. If you have any questions about the jeep’s setup just ask.
