I am trying to replace the shift valve (emergency drive shift valve) in the transfer case of my ’79 Jeep CJ-7 with Quadra-Trac. I am stuck at trying to get the valve out of the transfer case. I have a manual but it doesn’t give me any help in this area? Can anyone give me any websites or point me in the right direction? THANKS.

I am currently going to replace with a new carburetor and I want to lift it but don’t know which kinds of lift kits would be cheapest but noticable. Any suggestions would be appreciated. P.S. My old motor blew and I know where I can get one of these engines for free(only needs timing belt/chain and oil pan gasket!). Is it true what owner said about parts for these engines being way over priced and hard to get?
I LOVE straight 6 motors. That’s the other reason for me wanting it.

What could be the cause and is it dangerous to drive like that? What would it cost to fix?

I’m into the mudding scene but most of the time i’m just driving around. I want to get a lift or something to make it have a "taller and bigger" feel. I want to work on it alot this summer before I go to college. Any ideas on what I should do to it? My problem with lifting is that I don’t know what kind of lift or how much it will cost me.
