I am considering buy a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I have a job that frequently takes me to muddy construction sites, dirt roads, and live in upstate NY so deal with sometimes interesting winters. I also want a convertible. Maybe a Jeep is the best of both worlds. I have generally stayed away from American car makers becuase of their less then steller build quailty. But after 5 years with a VW Jetta that has spent a lot of time at the shop, I don’t want to deal with something that is going to be consistantly having stupid annoying things go wrong with it. Something else that is appealing to me about the Wranglers is the fact that their resale value seems to stay pretty good compared to other cars of the same vintage.

So, after all of that, the simple question remains, what have been your experiences with the Wrangler Unlimited: what has gone wrong, what has gone right, recalls, dealer experience, etc.

Wife is Argentinian, I’m Tunisian, so we know about 3rd world…however, never been to sub-saharan Africa, and we want to be in SA in August 2007, for 15 days. We travel a lot through South America with a Jeep and a map, getting one B&B at a time and very little planning… Is it reccomendable to do the same in SA?

I am looking for a Jeep, but a lot of people say it will have problems and if it all ready has over 50K miles then that’s the peak…should I buy one or no?

I bought an 89 Jeep Wrangler today and the steering is so loose you cant keep it on the road. It plays a lot when trying to turn and you have to turn the steering wheel half a turn even to get it to nudge over. What could be wrong with it?

im looking to buy a car next summer and right now the 05′ used grand cherokees cost around 15,000. how much will it cost next summer, or will the price drop a lot?

What could be the cause and is it dangerous to drive like that? What would it cost to fix?

I have a 1981 jeep j-10 and need to know some sites that have a lot of parts for it, and i really need it to be school accessible, also it would be nice if there were some sites with stereo systems on it.
