I have a 2004 grand Cherokee 4.7 HO v8. The check engine light came on about a week ago, and now it’s sputtering at idle and low speeds. The code for the the engine light said sector 1 bank 2.. I know the dealer will be more expensive, and I have no idea what’s wrong.. Are local shops worth the savings?

I have a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited 4×4. It now has 240,000 miles on it. The body is in almost perfect condition. I am looking for suggestions on where to buy parts for the engine rebuild (4.7 v8) or a rebuild kit that includes everything. Just curious on how many would suggest doing the rebuild vs buying a low miles used engine. What would cost difference be between these two methods? Thanks.
