   Most likely you need a new gear box. Possible that you can have it adjusted. Also check the steering linkage. Good Luck

   bushings, and yes, take it to a good shop, and let them inspect it; could be a low as a few hundred.

   too much play in steering were it seems dangerous, check the gear box and all the steering linkages. price not to sure, depends where you take it

   gear box most likely. ive been driving my my 78 cj5 with steering play for a year now. i know i got to get it fixed sometime
