It’ll be for everyday driving and occasionally towing jon boat to river. MUST be an automatic!!!! Don’t want to spend alot of money but still want a good reliable vehicle.

You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – autoinsurance.undonet.com

Make the ’06 or earlier TJ 4.0liter your choice. I have 100,000 mi. on my ’03 Rubicon, and it works great. You might want the TJ Sport with the Dana 44 rear end, and 4.11 gearing for towing. You don’t need oversize tires for this task. Get a good towing hitch from Quadratech.com and with the proper lighting kit, you are in business.

Given what you want, I suggest looking for an 06′ Wrangler Unlimited. It is a littler bigger to carry more gear inside. Most of them had the 4.0L and were automatics. It may cost a bit more but you’ll enjoy it more.

TJs are all the same but i wouldnt reccomend getting one much older that 98. Go with one that has a dana 44 in the back like the 06 special edition!(my car)
